I first met Bekki and Michael at a previous wedding I photographed and we immediately clicked, I'm not sure if it was the tie around the head dancing or the fact they were so open and friendly to a stranger who had been pointing a camera at them all day. When they got in touch a few weeks later, I was over the moon to hear from them again. For their winter wedding Bekki and Micheal had chosen Doxford Barns as their wedding venue. Tucked away in the Northumberland countryside this working farm was the perfect setting for their cosy and rustic barn wedding.
Michael started the day by going for a quick run with his ushers taking in the crisp December morning before getting suited and booted. In the next cottage along the excitement was building as Bekki got ready with her bridesmaids. She wore a stunning figure hugging Maggie Sottero design from Y.A.P Bridal (https://www.yapbridal.co.uk/)
In the cosy threshing hall lit with flicking Christmas tree lights and candles, Bekki and Michael said their vows - there were a few tears (from me) but the room was just alive with happiness. Bekki and Michael braved the December weather for a few snaps outside the venue, the beauty of Doxford Barn's is that the whole place is so photogenic you don't have to travel far! The celebrations continued throughout the afternoon with some brilliant speeches and the most beautiful music by John Paul Gatenby (https://amvlivemusic.com/artists/john-gatenby) who I would highly recommend. The evening was topped off with the most epic dancing - but then again I didn't expect anything less from Bekki and Michael. The party was everything I had hoped it would be - I don't think the dance floor was ever empty! Big shout out to Made Simply Perfect (https://www.madesimplyperfect.co.uk/) for the amazing floral's and decor on the day and also to Lora from LKH Hairdressing for the hair and make-up which stayed flawless throughout the day. Perfect, perfect, perfect!
